A project of NPR’s Next Generation Radio program, Motherhood Abroad explores the story of Yeni Dewi’s journey from Indonesia to the USA to provide for her newborn son as a single mother. In America, she faces multiple accounts of exploitation— from labor trafficking to sweatshops in LA. Despite working tirelessly for her son, their dynamics remained strained.
